Ron Delaney
State Commander - Air Force

Ron was born and raised in Jefferson City, Missouri. He joined the USAF in 1984 as a Telephone and Data Specialist. After completing assignments at Torrejón Air Base in Madrid, Spain and Loring AFB, Maine, Ron served in Desert Storm and then transferred to Lackland AFB in San Antonio, TX, where he utilized his Education and Training Command Master Instructor designation teaching Basic Electronics.

While stationed at Yongsan, Seoul, South Korea, Ron was one of only two telephone systems craftsmen placed in charge of 12 communication sites, with 3 levels of security, across the South Korean peninsula.

While stationed at Barksdale AFB, LA, 2004 Ron was selected as one of six Air Force instructors for a special temporary duty assignment to The United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado to author Officer Development and military knowledge curriculum for the cadets. He considered this a tremendous honor.

Ron retired after 21 years of honorable service to his country while stationed at Barksdale AFB, Louisiana and choose the Bossier City area as his retirement home.

Ron and his wife Lisa have been married for more than 16 years. They have 4 adult children and 10 grandchildren.
He enjoys hunting, riding his Harley Davidson, and spending time with his family.

Ron joined the VFW, Post 4219 in Orchard Farm, Missouri. He became a life member in 1996, after returning from Desert Strom and has been a member ever since. He has held many local, district, and department positions. He is currently a Silver Legacy Lifetime member of VFW Post 4588 Bossier City, Louisiana.

Transferee into Department of Louisiana in 2014.
