Description
Members of VFW Post 7017 were asked to provide assistance with the Traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall by the Walker Dept. of Parks and Recreation. We provided help to veterans and their families in a number of ways such as helping them find names. We guarded the wall every day from 6am to 4-5pm. We handed out Quilts of Valor to over 42 Veterans of Foreign Wars. We placed a wreath on the wall and participated in the ceremony. We talked to veterans and their families and even recruited some new members. Mike Felder and Jim Bussolati stayed after the event and helped take down and pack up the Wall for future travel.
