State Senior Vice Commander - Army

James "Jamie" Prestenback holds the title of Gold Legacy Life Member at Freddie John Falgout Post 3665 in Raceland, LA. He currently fulfills the roles of Senior Vice Commander for the Department of Louisiana and Post Quartermaster for VFW Post 3665. Since joining the VFW in 2017, he has served in various leadership positions including Post Quartermaster, Post Commander, District Commander, and State Junior Vice Commander, achieving recognition as a past All State/All American Post Commander, District Commander, and Post Quartermaster.

During his 20-plus years of service in the U.S. Army, Louisiana National Guard, and U.S. Army Reserves from 1991 to 2012, Jamie took on increasing levels of responsibility. His eligibility for VFW membership was earned through his deployment to Iraq from 2003-2004. He has been honored with a range of awards including the Meritorious Service Medal, multiple Army Commendation Medals, Army Achievement Medals, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal with 2 stars, Global War on Terror Service Medal, Combat Action Badge and other medals, awards, ribbons & badges.

In his personal life, Jamie is happily married to his wife Angela for 26 years, and together they have four adult children - Autumn, Alexis, Brooke, and Seth - as well as three grandchildren - Layla, James, and Hayes. Alongside his military service, Jamie dedicated over 17 years to law enforcement and currently works as a Casualty & Property Claims Adjuster at Saia Motor Freight Line, LLC. In his free time, He enjoys spending quality moments with his family, fishing, and showcasing his culinary skills in the kitchen.
